Girls may be outnumbered in tech fields today, but Emagination is working to empower our girls to be strong, confident and just as tech-savvy as our boys. We welcome girls to Tech Camp where they build their tech skills and make friends with like-minded girls.

Youth Girl at an Emagination Tech Camp

According to a national Girl Scouts study, 74% of teen girls are interested in STEM but only 43% are considering a STEM-related career.  Emagination is working to empower girls and break the stereotypes that lead to underrepresentation in STEM-related fields.

Women in technology are doing amazing things and changing the world for the better. At Emagination, we are playing a part by preparing girls with technology education plus a summer camp experience that is designed to further social development and self-confidence.

Girls Night

During every camp session there is a special night for girls only. Female staff and campers (Day campers too!) get together for activities and fun

Girls Wing

Female overnight campers and staff are housed together in a dedicated wing of a residence hall. The female wing becomes a supportive community for girls that fosters relationships and peer empowerment.

Girls at

On average, 20% of our campers are female and they return to Emagination for multiple summers at the same rate as boys! Girls come back to camp because it’s a place where they feel at home, where they make friends, and where they develop both technology skills and life skills. Our goal is to radically increase the number of girls at camp.

Providing Powerful

Role Models

We’re proud that each year almost half of Emagination counselors and leadership staff are young adult women pursuing STEM-related careers. Females serve as positive role models to all campers — especially girls. We believe that female counselors will inspire girls to follow their lead.

We Believe in

Coed Learning

Emagination’s approach is to run a fully co-ed program in an environment that promotes inclusion, mutual respect, cooperation and creativity. Boys and girls who learn together are better prepared to work together.
